Applications are now open to stand for election to the PCDO Society Committee. This year, we are particularly seeking applications from dietitians and members from Northern Ireland.
The PCDO Society Committee is responsible for the overall governance and strategic direction of the organisation. Committee members also play an active role in the Society’s educational activities, including planning and speaking at conferences and webinars, creating CPD modules, and writing and commissioning for the Diabetes & Primary Care journal.
Posts are elected on a 3-yearly basis, with the cycles staggered across the representatives. We are always interested to hear from Society members who are seeking to take a more active role, and one way in which this can be achieved is via membership of the Committee.
Elected members generously give their own time. Much of the work is done by email, but there are typically four Committee meetings each year, usually held on Saturdays in Birmingham with preparatory meetings on the Friday evening.
The job description, code of conduct and other policies related to the role can be found here.
