PCDS Entry Level Module Series

This resource will explore and focus on 9 of 15 care processes recommended for good diabetes management by primary care HCPs. These modules concentrate on the important markers of improved long-term care recommended by NICE and within the National Service Framework. They utilise the care processes used for measuring and monitoring practice data, the National Diabetes Audit and the Scottish Diabetes Survey.

The content consists of 8 modules covering the examinations needed and areas of concern when providing care for patients with diabetes and includes multiple-choice assessments* after each module to test your understanding. There is also a reflective sheet and training log that you can use to track your learning moving forward. This could be used for locally supported and in house professional development.

*Competence will need to be measured at a local level

AstraZeneca has, through a grant, fully funded all costs for the technical development and hosting of the modules. AstraZeneca has had no influence on the content of the modules and full editorial control remains the sole responsibility of the Primary Care Diabetes Society.
