Remote diabetes reviews: a quick guide from the PCDS

The Primary Care Diabetes Society (PCDS) has published a new quick guide on How to undertake a remote diabetes review. Diabetes reviews allow healthcare professionals to provide support and education, to monitor and manage control, and to identify and manage risk factors. Remote consultations are recommended as a way of continuing care during coronavirus restrictions.

Led by Jane Diggle and Pam Brown, the guide provides an algorithm that neatly presents the process of preparing for, conducting and following-up a remote consultation. Each aspect of this process is complemented by essential information and resources, presented in an easy-to-follow way. The PCDS trusts that the guide, which has been published in Diabetes & Primary Care, will help support primary and community healthcare professionals in delivering safe and effective diabetes care during the pandemic.
