Annual Diabetic Foot Awareness Cycle Ride

The now much-anticipated annual event — the Diabetic Foot Awareness Cycle the Diabetic Foot Amputation Awareness Cycle Ride — is taking place in the New Forest and on the Isle of Wight today and tomorrow (8 and 9th July). With this ride, Rob Yates, Graham Bowen and their podiatry friends, as well as riders from supporting Industry (Woundchek, Urgo, L&R and Integra) want to raise awareness that the number of diabetes-related amputations (foot or toe) has now rising 176 a week, at a cost of £1.13bn a year — causing great suffering to patients and their families. You can spur the group on by visiting the Facebook page or @DF_Aware_ride. Our own Caroline Phelan will make sure that no one is lagging behind. #DFAware2019
