Sanofi have advised on 30 November that some patients might experience limited availability of Insuman® prefilled pens and cartridges, owing to temporary limited manufacturing capacity at one of their sites between 1 December 2015 and July 2016.
Patients who are unable to obtain Insuman Basal, or Insuman Comb 25 should contact their surgery as soon as possible and be switched to a suitable alternative insulin under medical supervision and shown how to use a new injection device. More frequent blood glucose monitoring and insulin dose adjustment may be required in order to maintain blood glucose control.

The temporary supply shortage of Insuman pre-filled pens and cartridges are as follows:
- Insuman Basal (3 mL × 5 cartridges).
- Insuman Comb 25 (3 mL × 5 cartridges).
- Insuman Basal Solostar (3 mL × 5 pre-filled pens).
- Insuman Comb 25 Solostar (3 mL × 5 pre-filled pens).
