Care of diabetes in people of south Asian origin

The DECODA study, which compared the prevalence of diabetes and impaired glucose tolerance in Asian countries, demonstrated that diabetes is particularly common in Indian populations – affecting approximately one in three of those studied who were aged between 50 and 59 (Qiao et al, 2003).
